How to Design a Modern Kitchen

Cristiano August 24, 2021 2 min read

If you’re looking for a kitchen with a contemporary design, here are a few things to consider. Firstly, you should consider the layout of the room. Modern kitchens have smooth stone countertops and are free from small appliances, clutter and excess paint. Then, you should select a color that will be carried throughout the room. This kitchen was designed by Reena Sotropa, and her minimalist, modern kitchen is a great example of this style.

To add a touch of luxury to the space, consider using glazed tiles. Glazed tiles provide a rich, glossy contrast to monochromatic walls. You may also choose to use recycled glass or broken terracotta or slate tiles. Ultimately, the color of the floor depends on the owner’s preference and the rest of the kitchen’s color scheme. If you’re planning to go with a wooden floor, you should select a dark wood flooring.

You can choose open shelving as a storage solution as well as a decorative accent. You can choose stainless steel shelves for a modern look, or use a neutral-colored wood shelf. This will make your dishes stand out more. Open shelves are another good option for the kitchen, as they allow more natural light into the space. They’re also great for reducing the weight of cabinet doors and allow more natural lighting. There are plenty of other advantages to using open shelves in the kitchen.

Lastly, modern kitchens make great use of natural light. Windows are often left uncovered, which means that the room looks more spacious. For an extra boost of natural light, you may want to include larger windows in your kitchen. Modern lighting fixtures are often sleek, modern and crafted from unexpected materials. A concrete pendant with multiple bulbs, for example, is an excellent choice. You can also opt to add a pendant light or two over the kitchen island.
